Upcoming an Ongoing Activities
Meetings are held on the
Third Wednesday of
the month at 7 PM at
Post 149
in Escondido
The Riders serve
Burgers - Hot dogs - Beans - Etc. starting at about 5:00 PM on the Patio
Bar-B-Que
prior to the meeting. Come for
the food and
stay for the meeting.
MONTHLY RIDE
We plan to
take a ride at least
once a month on the
2nd Sunday
Meet at Post 149 at
8 AM for breakfast
and off we will go
to somewhere.

The purpose of this group is to join together to share our
mutual enjoyment of riding while promoting the aims and purposes of the American
Legion. Each group is sponsored by a local American Legion Post and works with local
Posts to support charities and promote Veterans issues. |

The American
Legion Riders,
Department of
California,
met in their 1st
Annual
Convention in
Fresno March
31st - April 1,
2007. The
Constitution and
By-laws were
approved and
officers were
elected for
2007-2008.
Present to
congratulate the
Riders were the
Commander,
Vice-Commander
for Women, and
Adjutant of
The American
Legion,
Department of
California as
well as many
other Department
and District
officers. |

Larry
"Ghost"
McCormick
passed
away on
July 15,
2006. Larry suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized for a brief period before succumbing to his illness. |
Lawrence Sun-Soul
Mosley died peacefully in his sleep at
approximately
2 AM on
Saturday,
February
25,
2006. In accordance with his Hopi ancestry, his remains
were cremated and transported to the
Hopi reservation
in
Arizona
for
proper
disposal. |
Skip Ertwine, Colonol USMC (Ret.), died Aug. 10, 2008 at age 63. Born in Danville, Pa., Ertwine was a naval aviator who also earned his Air Force pilot wings. Before the Persian Gulf War, Skip was part of a team that developed a missile warning method called Quick Alert that delivered information to troops and allies when Scud missiles were launched. Skip joined Chapter 149 and then became one of the founding members of Chapter 146 in Oceanside. |
