COMMANDER | JEN HOLDEN
As we approach Memorial Day, let us pause to reflect on the true meaning of this month, honoring the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. JB Clark Post 149 is proud to carry forward their legacy through our continued commitment to service, remembrance, and community. We will be holding a lunch and short ceremony in the back at 11:00 AM. This will be after the Oak Hill Cemetery activities.
This past month, we opened the floor for officer nominations, and I want to thank those who have stepped up to lead. As I shared in April, I will not be seeking a fourth term as Commander. Serving in this role has been one of the greatest honors of my life. I am incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together, especially in difficult financial times. Your resilience, support, and camaraderie have kept this Post going, and I know the future is in good hands.
We continue to operate on a limited budget, and the need for fundraisers and community sponsorships remains critical. Our programs, services, and facility depend on the generosity of our members and supporters. If you have ideas for fundraising, or know someone in the community who might be willing to sponsor an event or donate to the Post, please reach out. Every dollar helps us do more for veterans, youth, and the community we serve.
Second nominations and voting for Post Officers elections will take place at our upcoming general meeting, and I encourage all members in good standing to participate. I was also very disappointed in the Post member turn out in April, and I hope that you come to this very important meeting. The positions up for election are:
- Commander
- 1st Vice Commander
- 2nd Vice Commander
- Sergeant-at-Arms
- Two (2) Executive Board positions (two-year terms)
This is your Post, and your voice matters.
As always, there are many ways to give back. Whether it’s volunteering at events, offering a hand with Post upkeep, or supporting our outreach programs, every effort contributes to our mission. Let’s continue to work together to keep Post 149 strong and thriving.
Thank you for the honor of serving as your Commander. I look forward to standing alongside you as a fellow member and continuing to support our mission. For God and Country.
